Is this audio trimmer really free?+
Yes. Trimming, previewing, and downloading the WAV are free and do not require an account. Saturalabs’ separate AI audio isolation service has its own account and credit flow; using this trimmer does not start a separation job.
Can I cut an MP3 and download an MP3?+
You can open an MP3, but this tool exports a 48 kHz, 16-bit PCM WAV. It does not encode MP3. WAV can be larger than the source MP3, so check the displayed output size rather than assuming a shorter clip is a smaller file.
Does my recording get uploaded?+
The trimmer reads and edits your selected file locally in this browser. It does not upload the audio to Saturalabs. Keep your original file and download your cut before leaving or reloading the page; the editor does not save your recording for later.
Why won’t a file open?+
This editor accepts mono or stereo MP3 and WAV recordings up to 50 MiB and 5 minutes. A WAV container can hold different audio codecs, and browser support varies. Try a standard PCM WAV or MP3 export, or a shorter recording if your device runs out of memory.
Does trimming remove background noise or separate vocals?+
Trimming keeps one time range of the complete mix. Every sound inside that range remains. To separate a voice, instrument, or unwanted sound that overlaps the wanted audio, use one of Saturalabs’ AI audio tools after preparing your clip.
Will the cut preserve the exact original audio data?+
The file is decoded and exported as 48 kHz, 16-bit PCM WAV, so this is not a bit-for-bit cut of the source file. The optional 5 ms edge fades change the first and last few samples. Original tags, artwork, and other metadata are not copied.
