Choose a PCM AIFF
Select an uncompressed .aif or .aiff no larger than 50 MiB and five minutes. The tool accepts mono or stereo 8-, 16-, 24- or 32-bit PCM at 8–192 kHz; AIFF-C is not supported.

Download the WAV and open it in your audio editor. The browser can preview supported WAV formats, but playback varies by device. Keep the AIFF original.
What is preserved
Is AIFF to WAV lossless?
For the supported uncompressed PCM files, this converter preserves the audio sample values, frame count, sample rate, bit depth and mono or stereo layout. AIFF and WAV store their PCM bytes differently, so the file bytes and container headers change even though the sample values do not. Eight-bit WAV PCM uses an unsigned representation; the converter adjusts its encoding to preserve the equivalent sample values.
The WAV does not copy AIFF tags, artwork, markers, loops or other non-audio chunks. Keep the original if those details matter. A source that was previously made from lossy audio does not gain missing detail through conversion. For another view of lossless audio and containers, see FLAC versus WAV.
This page preserves the source rate and bit depth. The WAV option on the separate AIFF to MP3 converter produces a resampled 16-bit working copy and is not guaranteed to preserve samples. Choose the output that matches your editing or delivery requirements.
Check the file
Supported AIFF files and troubleshooting
The input must be uncompressed PCM AIFF with the listed sample widths, sample rates and channels, no more than five minutes and 50 MiB. Compressed AIFF-C, blocked sound data, malformed files and unsupported layouts are rejected. For those files or longer recordings, use a desktop converter and verify its settings.
After downloading, the WAV file inspector can show stored format details for supported files. It does not prove that two audio files have identical samples; use an audio comparison tool when exact verification is required.
A few useful answers
Free AIFF to WAV converter questions
How do I convert AIFF to WAV?
Choose a supported .aif or .aiff file, convert it and download the WAV. Input must be uncompressed mono or stereo PCM at 8–192 kHz, with 8-, 16-, 24- or 32-bit samples, no larger than 50 MiB and five minutes. The output must also fit 50 MiB.
Is this AIFF-to-WAV conversion lossless?
For supported files, the PCM sample values, sample rate, bit depth, frame count and mono or stereo layout are preserved without resampling or lossy encoding. The WAV is not a byte-identical copy: AIFF metadata, artwork and other non-audio chunks are not copied.
Does this upload my audio?
No. The selected file is read and converted locally in your browser. Download the result before leaving the page.
Why can't my AIFF file be converted?
The tool accepts uncompressed PCM AIFF in the stated layouts and limits. AIFF-C, compressed or blocked variants, malformed files and files over the size or duration limit are rejected. Try a desktop converter.
Why won't the WAV preview play?
Browser playback support varies by WAV sample format and rate. The exported WAV is available for download even when the browser cannot preview it; open it in a compatible audio editor and check it there.
